"I'm running to Bridge a Brighter Bremerton."

I’m Jeff Coughlin, and I’m running for Mayor of Bremerton because I believe in our city and the people who call it home.  Bremerton is a place full of opportunity, resilience, and community spirit, but I know firsthand the challenges we face — rising housing costs, a need for stronger public safety and support, a struggling healthcare system, a lack of connected safe transportation, and small businesses fighting to stay afloat.

I’ve spent years working alongside neighbors, local leaders, and small business owners to make real, lasting improvements in our city.  Whether it’s expanding access to housing, supporting our local economy, or ensuring public safety, I believe that government should be responsive, transparent, and focused on solutions that actually work for people.

Bremerton deserves a mayor who listens, brings people together, and isn’t afraid to take action.  I’m ready to lead with integrity, vision, and a deep commitment to making Bremerton a city where everyone can live, work, and thrive.

I’d love to hear from you — let’s Bridge a Brighter Bremerton, together!

A Record of Getting Things Done

Throughout his time in public service, Jeff has been a champion for innovative solutions and real progress:

Public Safety Supported increased staffing and training for Police, Fire, and EMS, working in partnership with community.

Housing & Growth — Led efforts to expand Missing Middle Housing options, making it easier to build ADUs, duplexes, and cottage housing to meet housing demand while preserving green space and protecting our enviroment.

Homelessness Supporting Bremerton’s first hybrid homeless shelter model, ensuring people receive the support they need while safeguarding impacts to local neighborhoods.

Economic Development — Worked with the Downtown Bremerton Association to advance Main Street Certification, securing funding for local businesses and historic preservation.

Healthcare Advocacy — As a founding member of the Alliance for Equitable Healthcare, played a key role in bringing Bremerton’s first ER since 2020 to address the county’s healthcare crisis.

Small Business & Jobs Advocated for streamlining business permitting and supported Olympic College, WSU, and WWU to expand workforce training in healthcare, trades, and emerging industries.

A Vision for Bremerton’s Future

Jeff believes that Bremerton should be a city where everyone can live, work, and thrive.  As Mayor, he will:

Strengthen public safety through increased staffing, community partnership, and emergency preparedness.

Expand attainable housing for working families and safeguard residents from displacement.

Support our community partners providing pathways out of homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse treatment.

Champion small businesses and grow our tourism and art focused economy that invests in those who live here.

Ensure safe, connected transportation by bolstering ferry services, non-motorized networks, and safe routes to school.

Protect and enhance our parks and green spaces, ensuring they are safe, accessible, and well-maintained for all to enjoy.

✅ Improve healthcare access by recruiting doctors and nurses, investing in local education for a skilled workforce, and expanding community care to meet residents' needs.

Create a government that listens to every voice, works efficiently for all residents, and thrives on coalition building and transparency.
